Q. How do I link from one drive to another?
A. There are several methods to link between drives. I would really recommend setting up the Virtual Directories. Setting up the Virtual Directory is straightforward. In Serv-U select the "Settings" option in the tree view. Then you will select the Add button in the Virtual Path Mappings field. Enter the Physical Path (ie Q:\) and select the path where you want the link to show up (ie %HOME% , or c:\ftp\anywhere). Finally, you will name the folder (this could be anything you wish to call it). Make sure that the user has the proper access to navigate to the Virtual Directory. For example, if you want the user "Fred" to see the Virtual Path to Q:\ then you will have to grant Fred access to Q:\. This is done under the "Dir Access" tab in the users settings. After that is complete, the user Fred should be able to login and see a link to the Q:\ drive in his home directory. (If the user Fred can log into the Q:\ drive but no files show up take a look at "What are Network Directory Listings?".)
